BRYAN GUNNAR COLE, DIRECTOR/EDITOR

Bryan is a 1987 graduate of Yale University with a BA in Film Studies and a 1998 MFA recipient from New York University’s Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. His Master’s thesis film TRIM won the Wasserman Award, NYU’s top honor in recognition for outstanding achievement in film. Today, Bryan is an editor and documentary filmmaker.

Bryan began his career in Seattle, Washington where he co-founded Annex Theatre. In theatre, Bryan concentrated on producing new works by emerging artists. His theatrical producing credits include everything from large scale musicals like Wonka, (an adaptation of the 1970 film classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) to innovative shows like the comic series The Up and Coming.

While at NYU, Bryan received many awards including five Craft awards, two Warner Bros. Production Awards, the Martin Scorsese Award, and the Maurice Kanbar Award for directing. In addition, his thesis film, Trim, won a 1997 Wasserman Award.
Besides being an accomplished editor for film and television, Bryan continues to work independently. He has produced and directed films for National Geographic, PBS, and ITVS among others. His experimental short Unfurled was selected as part of Showtime Networks “Reflections from Ground Zero” September 11 anniversary broadcast. Also, his documentary Boomtown has screened in festivals and cultural institutions throughout North America and was selected for the acclaimed PBS independent documentary showcase POV.
Most recently, Bryan edited the feature film Rock The Paint which premiered at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival, and the feature documentaries Another Road Home, which exhibited nationally and received a very positive review in the New York Times, and Artic Sun. Day Zero is Bryan’s narrative feature film directing debut.

ROB MALKANI, WRITER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Rob Malkani is a New York City-based film producer and screenwriter. In 2001, he formed CurbSide Pictures to finance and produce independent feature films. His first feature, which he co-wrote and produced, was the 2003 thriller Dot.kill directed by John Irvin (City of Industry, Hamburger Hill). His follow-up production was the 2004 feature film “Turning Green,” an Irish coming-of-age black comedy starring Timothy Hutton, Alessandro Nivola and Colm Meaney. The film shot on location in Ireland and New York City.

Malkani easily shifts gears between producing and screenwriting and has completed several feature scripts that are at various stages of development and production. Another of Malkani’s scripts, One Four Seven Greenwich, a dark and gritty thriller in the vein of films like Memento and The Usual Suspects, is set to begin production later in 2007 in New York City. On that project, Malkani has teamed with Moody to produce, and Academy Award winning actor Timothy Hutton is attached to direct. The budget for One Four Seven Greenwich is expected to be in the $10MM range. In addition, Malkani has several other bigger budget projects in development.

Malkani started his professional life in the corporate world before making his way to the movies. He left a position as a Vice-President in the investment banking department at Credit Suisse First Boston in 2000 to pursue his passion for film. Prior to joining CSFB, Rob was a corporate attorney at the prestigious New York law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Dartmouth College.

ANTHONY MOODY, PRODUCER

New York City-based producer Anthony Moody founded Indalo Productions in 2001 to develop, finance and produce independent feature films. His first feature film was 2005’s Turning Green (Timothy Hutton, Alessandro Nivola, Colm Meaney) which he executive produced in association with Curbside Pictures. The film world-premiered at the 2005 Cinevegas Film Festival. Anthony also produced 2005’s Rock The Paint which world-premiered at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival.

Since receiving his BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, Moody has been involved in all walks of finance and business life, from Institutional Equity Sales and Trading at Wall Street powerhouse Merrill Lynch, to strategic advisor for networking start-up ePort, and strategic business development at Register.com, where he pursued and closed partnerships, investments, and corporate acquisitions. After earning his MBA in Entertainment Finance at NYU’s Stern School of Business, Moody built a thriving consulting practice, offering strategic financial advice to angel investors and corporations, including a $500 million (sales) healthcare company.

Moody’s participation in the arts began very early and includes several years of music and theater production and a lifelong association with the Howard Gilman Foundation, which actively supports dance, photography and film. Moody is also a member of the IFP Producers Group and has several other projects in various stages of development including One Four Seven Greenwich, written by Rob Malkani, with Timothy Hutton attached to direct. The film is set to shoot in NYC later in 2007.

ELIJAH WOOD

Widely regarded as one of the most gifted actors of his generation, Elijah Wood continues to challenge himself with roles in films spanning the spectrum of style and genre.

He is currently in production in London on “Oxford Murders.” Elijah will star opposite John Hurt as a student at Oxford University who works together with his professor (Hurt) to stop a potential series of murders seemingly linked by mathematical symbols.

Wood recently wrapped production on Bryan Gunner Cole’s independent film “Day Zero” opposite Chris Klein and Ginnifer Goodwin. He also recently finished lending his voice for the animated film “9,” which he stars in opposite John C. Reilly, Christopher Plummer, and Martin Landau.

Wood can currently be seen in George Miller’s animated film “Happy Feet.” Wood provides the voice for ‘Mumble,’ a young, musically talented penguin in Antarctica who has many adventures – which he tells of through song and dance. The ensemble cast also includes Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman and Brittany Murphy. Warner Bros. and Imax will release the film on November 17th, 2006 in Imax 3-D.

He can also been seen in Emilio Estevez’s “Bobby” opposite Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan and Freddy Rodriquez. “Bobby” is a fictionalized account of various people whose lives intersect in the hours leading up to and including the assassinations of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Wood plays ‘William Avary,’ a man who decides to marry a girl to change his draft classification. The Weinstein Co. will be releasing the film November 26th, 2006.

Wood was last seen in “Everything is Iluminated,” Liev Schreiber’s adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s best selling novel for Warner Independent Pictures. A blend of whimsical comedy, introspection and great tragedy, the film tells the story of a young American Jewish man’s (Wood) quest to find the woman who saved his grandfather — in a small Ukrainian town that was wiped off the map by the Nazi invasion. “Everything is Illuminated” was released on September 16th, 2005. It also screened at this year’s Venice Film Festival, Telleride and Toronto Film Festivals.

Wood made an impression on critics in Focus Features’ critically acclaimed “Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind”. Written by Charlie Kaufman with Michel Gondry and directed by Gondry, the film stars Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as two lovers who make the ill-fated choice to erase one another from their lives. Wood co-stars as part of the team employed to do so (along with Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst and Tom Wilkinson) who becomes personally involved with one of their clients.

Wood made an indelible mark in the trilogy of films based on J.R.R. Tolkein’s “The Lord of the Rings” in the lead role of the hobbit, ‘Frodo Baggins.’ Directed by Peter Jackson, the films; “The Fellowship of the Ring,” “The Two Towers,” and “Return of the King” were all critically lauded as well as being box office record setters. In addition, “Return of the King” won the Academy Award for Best Picture as well as 11 Academy Awards in all, tying “Titanic” for the record. The series of films also starred Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellan, and Sean Astin.

Other recent film credits include Lexi Alexander’s “Hooligans,” Frank Miller’s graphic novel “Sin City” co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Miller with Mickey Roarke, Bruce Willis, Jesica Alba, Benecio Del Toro, Rosario Dawson and Clive Owen, Ang Lee’s film “The Ice Storm” with Christina Ricci, and Tobey Maguire, Martin Duffy’s independent film “The Bumblebee Flies Away” opposite Rachel Leigh Cook and Janeane Garofalo, Jeffrey Porter’s “Try Seventeen” with Franka Potente and Mandy Moore, “Ash Wednesday” opposite Ed Burns, James Toback’s “Black and White,” “The Faculty” written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Robert Rodriguez and Mimi Leder’s “Deep Impact.” In addition, Wood lent his voice to one of Miramax’s first animated films, “The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina,” voicing opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt’s ‘Thumbelina.’

Wood recently started his own record label, Simian Records. The first band signed to the label is the indie rock band “Apples In Stereo.” Their album, New Magnetic Wonder, is set to release on February 7th, 2007. Wood is making his directorial debut on the music video for their song “Energy.”

Wood was named 1994’s Young Star of the Year by NATO/ShowEast following his performance in “The War.” Wood currently resides in Los Angeles.

CHRIS KLEIN

Bringing a winning combination of charm, talent and magnetism to his roles, Chris Klein is quickly establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s leading men.

Klein will next be seen in Steve Berra’s “The Good Life” opposite Zooey Deschanel and Bill Paxton. Klein plays as an ex-football player/bully in a football-obsessed small town. “The Good Life” premiered in competition at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and will also be at the 2007 AFI Dallas Film Festival.

Klein recently wrapped production on Bryan Cole’s drama “Day Zero” about three friends who are called into war by the reinstated draft brought on by today’s global terrorism. Klein stars opposite Elijah Wood, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Ally Sheedy. The film will premiere at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.

Additionally, Klein recently wrapped production on Frank Whaley’s comedy “New York City Serenade” opposite Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jamie-Lynn DiScala. The film follows two best friends, Owen (Prinze) and Ray (Klein), who experience a falling out and learn about friendship, growing up, and growing apart.

Klein began his acting career in Alexander Payne’s critically acclaimed film “Election” opposite Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick. Klein’s portrayal of the dim-witted jock Paul Metzler, earned him praise throughout the industry and garnered him a Chicago Film Critics nomination as Most Promising Newcomer. “Election” also received a nomination for Best Picture at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Following “Election” Klein starred as Chris ‘Oz’ Ostreicher in the initial installment of Universal’s raucous “American Pie” sex comedies, directed by Chris and Paul Weitz.

In the summer of 2001, Klein reprised his classic role in the box office hit “American Pie 2.” The film earned the largest box office opening ever for an R-rated film, grossing over $300 million dollars worldwide.

Klein’s other film credits include: Randall Wallace’s “We Were Soldiers” opposite Mel Gibson, Matthew Ryan Hoge’s “United States of Leland” opposite Kevin Spacey (who also produced the project), Ryan Gosling and Don Cheadle, Roger Kumble’s “Just Friends” opposite Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart, Paul Weitz’ “Amerian Dreamz” opposite Mandy Moore, Hugh Grant and Dennis Quaid, James B. Rogers and The Farrelly Brothers “Say It Isn’t So” opposite Heather Graham, and Mark Piznarski’s “Here on Earth” opposite LeeLee Sobieski.

On Stage, Klein starred in “This is Our Youth” in London’s West End. Playing the role of Dennis, Klein joined Freddie Prinze Jr. and Heather Burns as a trio of rich New York teenagers caught up in the new yuppie culture of the early 80’s.

Klein was born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and currently resides in Los Angeles. He is involved with many children charities including UNICEF, St. Jude’s Runway for Life and P.S. ARTS.

JON BERNTHAL

Jon Bernthal attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He then studied at The Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia, where he also played baseball in the European Professional Baseball Federation. While in Moscow, he was noticed by the director of Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at the American Repertory Theatre and was invited to obtain his Master’s in Fine Arts, where he graduated in 2002.

His stage credits include the Off-Broadway production of “The 5th of July” at New York’s Signature Theatre, the Off-Off-Broadway production of “The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui,” “Proof” at the Portland Stage Company and “This Is Our Youth” at the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C. He has performed in more than 20 plays regionally and Off-Broadway, including many with his own theater company Fovea Floods.

He stars in the feature film DAY ZERO and can also be seen in THE AIR I BREATHE (both premiering at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival). He also played “Christopher Amoroso” in Oliver Stone’s WORLD TRADE CENTER, and starred in MARY/MARY, and TONY & TINA’S WEDDING.

Jon is a series regular on the CBS sitcom “The Class,” playing the role of “Duncan Carmello.” He has also done guest stars on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Boston Legal,” “Johnny Zero,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Without A Trace,” and “CSI: Miami.”

Born and raised in Washington D.C, Jon currently lives in Venice, CA.

GINNIFER GOODWIN

Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Ginnifer Goodwin has quickly found a home in Hollywood. With effusive talent, she shined in the Oscar-nominated biopic Walk the Line, as Johnny Cash’s first wife, opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. Currently, she can be seen in HBO’s newest critically acclaimed dramatic series Big Love, produced by Tom Hanks’ Playtone Productions. She stars as the youngest and third of three wives in a modern-day polygamist family, with Bill Paxton as the patriarch, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Chloe Sevigny – wives one and two, respectively.

Recently, Goodwin completed filming an independent project called Day Zero with Chris Klein and Elijah Woods in New York City. She has also lent her acting talents to a small cameo in Jon Kasdan’s In the Land of Women.

Her breakthrough role was in her first feature film ever – Mike Newell’s Mona Lisa Smile, starring alongside Julia Roberts, Marcia Gay Harden and Kirsten Dunst. This freshman performance garnered industry buzz and critical interest, and she was considered a standout among an experienced ensemble. Soon after, she starred in Robert Luketic’s romantic comedy, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, opposite Kate Bosworth, Topher Grace and Josh Duhamel.

Goodwin is classically trained in English theatre. She studied at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Shakespeare Institute, in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She also earned an “Acting Shakespeare Certificate” at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she played Joan of Arc, Ophelia and Jessica in The Merchant of Venice. Then a few years later, she attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

At Boston University, Goodwin performed at the Huntington Theatre, in productions such as “Dead End” with Broadway director Nicholas Martin. Subsequently, Goodwin was awarded with the Excellence in Acting: Professional Promise Award by The Bette Davis Foundation, and graduated with honors.

After her college graduation, she quickly got a small role on Law and Order. Then, at the top of its second season, NBC’s Ed welcomed Goodwin as a regular. She also starred in Comedy Central’s collaboration with Tribeca Films: Porn N Chicken.

Goodwin currently resides in Los Angeles.

Elisabeth Moss

Most recently, Elisabeth wrapped 3 feature films including, “Day Zero” with Elijah Wood and Chris Klein, Michael Almereyda’s “New Orleans, Mon Amour” with Christopher Eccleston and the indie feature “El Camino”.

In 2006, Elisabeth completed her 7th season playing the President’s daughter on NBC’s hit show, “The West Wing”, and had a recurring role as the menacing villain on the ABC series, “Invasion”.

In 2007 Elisabeth will star in a new series on AMC called “Mad Men” from the producers of “The Sopranos”.

In 2004 she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress for her work in the indie film “Virgin”. The film was also nominated for a John Cassevetes Award for Best Picture at the 2004 Spirit Awards.

In late 2003 she completed filming Ron Howard’s “The Missing” with Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones.

Her other film credits include:”Bittersweet Place” opposite Seymour Cassel; “Girl Interrupted” with Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder; the HBO film “Earthly Possessions” directed by James Lapine; “Joyriders” with Martin Landau; “Gypsy” with Bette Midler; “Imaginary Crimes” with Harvey Keitel; among many other film and television credits.

Elisabeth made her New York stage debut in 2002 in the title role of Franny in Richard Nelson’s “Franny’s Way” at the Atlantic Theatre, and reprised her role for the Los Angeles premiere of the play at the acclaimed Geffen Playhouse.

Sofia Vassilieva

At the youthful age of 14, Vassilieva has started to make her mark as an actress, starring as Eloise in the 2003 television movies “Eloise at the Plaza” and “Eloise at Christmastime,” opposite Julie Andrews.

She portrays Ariel Dubois, daughter of Allison and Joe, who, at an early age, is already showing signs of communicating with the dead in NBC’s hit drama series “Medium.”

Additional television credits include 2002’s “The Brady Bunch in the White House” where she portrayed Cindy Brady, opposite Shelley Long and Gary Cole. In addition, she made a guest appearance on the television show “The Agency” in 2001.

Vassilieva speaks French and Russian and lives in Los Angeles with her parents.
